High speed engine elastic vibration analyzer under operating condition
Challenge: Simulating an engine elastic vibration under operating condition speedily
When an engine is running, a rotating crankshaft and non-rotating cylinder block are coupled dynamically. In order to predict this phenomenon, it is very common to solve the CAE model in a time domain applying kinematic mechanism software which includes elastic crankshaft and cylinder block models.
It is, however, a bottle neck for an engine noise and vibration analysis because the time domain analytical method takes much longer computational time.
How to resolve pains:
Coupling crankshaft and cylinder block in frequency domain, which is very unique and innovative technology developed by the company and makes it possible to analyze an engine elastic vibration in a quite short period of time.
The method is patented with #5352026 in Japan and the technology is used in a software named ESTECH.PS-X
Strength of the Software
- Mode and input forces contribution analyses makes it possible to conduct design parameter study of an engine
- This approach is also available to simulate centrifugal and Coriolis forces generated by crankshaft rotation
- Interface for pre and post-processor for engine vibration analysis is available
