Hardware ESTECH Acoustic Excitation Sound Source EDS150-50

An acoustic excitation source for tests that simulates a quasi-point sound source

Features

When acoustically exciting a structure, excitation that simulates a point sound source is often required. To simulate a point sound source, sound waves need to radiate uniformly in all directions (360°).

ESTECH developed an acoustic excitation sound source by arranging speakers in a dodecahedral configuration to achieve conditions that are nearly equivalent to a point sound source.

Despite its compact 150 mm outer diameter, it enables acoustic excitation starting from the low-frequency range (from 20 Hz) when used together with an optional audio amplifier.

In addition, characteristic data (“volumetric acceleration / applied voltage E is provided for each unit, allowing you to calculate accurate excitation force from the applied voltage and use it easily.
